Atticus Birthday Party | Feb 15

It’s not often that you meet someone who offers nothing but unconditional love, acceptance, and joy. We at Mount Carmel Senior Living are lucky enough to have that in our unofficial mascot, Atticus. Please join us in the front room on Thursday, February 15th at 2:30 to celebrate this special boy.

Atticus was rescued from the St. Charles Pet Adoption Center last year and he has been rescuing us ever since. At his post at the front desk, he offers a happy greeting to all who enter. He entertains residents as they wait their turn for the elevator. He even helped a special needs boy get over a lifelong fear of dogs, allowing him to go to his brother’s house for the first time in years. We are lucky to have him as part of our Mount Carmel family.

Still, it takes a Village to care for him. From resident’s family members who check in on him, the mail man who sits on the floor and plays with him, his personal dog walker, Candy, to the FedEx driver who brings him a treat every day, Atticus is fortunate to have a family to care for him. Not all dogs are so lucky. In lieu of gifts, we will be collecting donations to take to the St. Charles Pet Adoption Center. Food, toys, gently used blankets and towels are all things that they can use. We appreciate your participation.
