Respite Care at Mount Carmel
When you are the caregiver for a senior or a disabled adult, sometimes you just need a break. It might be to enjoy a vacation with your own children or to take care of things around your home. Help could also be needed when the primary caregiver suffers a health crisis of their own. Respite care was designed for just those reasons.
Mount Carmel offers short-term stays when caregivers aren’t able to be there to care for an elderly loved one or disabled family member. Respite stays can last for a few days or up to one month. Guests in respite care enjoy the same amenities and services our permanent residents do. Included are: a full calendar of life enrichment activities, meals served in one of our dining rooms and as little or as much support with the activities of daily living as needed. Some families have used respite care as a trial run for a senior loved one they are trying to convince to move to an assisted living or nursing care community.
